| Most of my time has went to re-installing the stainless trim, and window hardware. Buffing is a dangerous sport, I
lost a piece of trim to the buffer, and will need to replace it. I needed to replace 2 pieces of vent window glass. I reused the window glass as it was in excellent shape except for some yellowing
on the edges, which you can't see because it is inside the run channel. I have a few pieces in the chrome shop, but still need to get the major parts such as , bumpers, grille chromed.
I have many misc. issues to take care of like dash lights, vent hose, rear carpet, trunk matting, and am searching for a few pieces of stainless trim. I'm also going
to have the wheels acid dipped, painted, and install a set of original style bias ply wide whites.
Some of the interior door panels can't be put on until I get the stainless put back due to getting to the clips inside the door otherwise the interior is
complete.
I will be installing door weather-stripping in the next couple weeks.
I am going to be getting either my old portholes re- chromed or getting new ones soon.
I am going to remove all the brackets for the front and rear bumpers and have them dipped and then paint them.
New rear tail light are on the way.
I am re-using the door sills for now because it is an expense I don't want to invest in now, they can easily be replaced at a later time, and mine are in fair
condition.
I will be installing the rocker and rear door gravel guards this week.
Stop back as I will update as I progress and thanks for visiting 49buick.com |
